First Degree Reiki - Level I/Shoden

Reiki I is the First Degree in the Universal Reiki System of Natural Healing and is a 2-day training which involves meditation sessions to fully establish a foundation of the practice. Participants receive 4 attunements (2 each day) to the Reiki energy and the ability to channel this energy cannot be learned by reading any manuals, but is only transferred to the student by a Reiki Master Teacher during the sacred ritual of the attunement process.

We will learn during these 2 days the practices of self-healing treatments and facilitating healing for others.

The atmosphere for the seminar is given in a relaxed meditative state so that participants have the opportunity to give as well as receive healing on current issues, as well as emotional links to dis-ease. The art of meditation is also introduced.

All participants must attain full attendance for both days before a certificate is issued. Upon completion, participants receive a Certificate in Reiki I First Degree and a comprehensive manual outlining the procedures and techniques covered in the training sessions.

There are no pre-requisites except that all participants come with a positive and open mind.

- What is Reiki and its effects
- Methods of centering and personal boundaries
- Art and forms of meditation
- Self-healing procedures
- Healing others and Group healing procedures
- Energy work and the Human Energy Field
- Auras, energy centres and colour therapy
- Emotional links to dis-ease

Institute of Holistic Therapies only trains and abides by the principles and practices of the Traditional Usui System of Reiki - hands-on, individual attunement by a Reiki Master Teacher, in the Usui Reiki tradition.

Over the years, there have been introductions of various styles of Reiki where Reiki practitioners have not been approved by professional associations for membership due to unacceptable lineages and certifications. We strongly recommend you enquire and verify the Reiki Master Teacher's lineage before embarking on your Reiki journey.

The facilitator is Ms Corrine Brown. In September 1995, she began her new journey with life after having been diagnosed with cancer and an uncertain outlook for the future, she has come a long way in the healing process to recovery, bringing her depth of personal, emotional and physical experience to her group work and training. Corrine is a member of the ARC (Australian Reiki Connection) and AARP Teacher (Association of Australian Reiki Professionals) and teaches and uses Reiki in all of her natural therapy works.
